What we have here is a Norwegian Kransekake, a special ring cake made with almond flour. Now, we have been trying for YEARS to get this thing right. 5-6c water
2 big leeks
10-12 carrots, chopped
1 tbsp oil
1 inch plug of fresh ginger, chopped
2-3 tsp red curry paste (or to taste)

Pumpkin Ginger Crumble Pie



This pie is a little bit different.... the inside is similar in flavor to a traditional pumpkin pie, but is a bit lighter. The top is a delicious crumbly crunchy mixture that adds a little sass to an old favorite.

First, the chicken... for this, you can use my tried and true ziplock baggie approach. Here is what you need:
-3 thawed chicken breasts (or, however many you need)
-juice of one fresh lime
-1 tbsp olive oil
-1 tsp cumin
-1/4tsp chili powder
-big pinch of salt.

Throw it all in a gallon sized ziplock baggie. In a recent CSA box, I got a really nice bunch of beets, greens and all. Now, I come from a Scandinavian, beet eating family, but I myself have never been a beet lover. I've never really been sure if that was because I'm just not into pickled beets, or canned beets (I never remember seeing an actual raw beet). So, I figured that this was the time to find out.

I made a back of the quilt, which probably could have been simpler except I had a lot of fabric that I could cut up, and didn't want to waste it. Upside Down Peppers!</title><summary type='text'>These days it has gotten very trendy to grow plants upside down- mainly tomatoes, but other things as well such a strawberries and peppers. Theoretically, plants grown this way are less vulnerable to pests and are super healthy. There is sage drying for burning, and I managed to abscond with some so I could cook something with it.
